Why Rhodium Plating Matters on Silver Jewelry

Published December 31, 1969 · Written by the Holycome atelier team, Wuzhou China

Bare 925 silver is slightly warm, slightly grey. Rhodium is a platinum-group metal that is bright white and highly reflective. We electroplate every silver piece with a thin layer (0.5–1 micron) of rhodium after polishing.

The plating wears off slowly at the high-friction points — the inside of the band, the back of a pendant. When it does, send it back and we re-plate for free in the first year.
